As thousands of people gathered in Clacton-on-Sea to bask in warm weather, the man was found stabbed in front of the Premier Inn on Marine Parade West. Officers and paramedics rushed to the scene shortly after 12:30 p.m. An air ambulance also landed on the nearby beach.
The force said, “It is believed that he was attacked in another location before walking to Marine Parade West near the junction with Agate Rd where he got into a car. “
An Essex police spokesperson said the man was rushed to hospital, but did not provide details about his condition.
They said: “We were called to report that a man was found injured near the Marine Parade and Pier Avenue junction shortly after 12:35 p.m. Monday May 25.
“The man suffered a stomach injury and is taken to hospital for treatment.

A local man said he was outside and enjoying the warm weather with his young daughter when he saw emergency services taking to the streets.
The man, who did not want to be named, told The Gazette, “I was teaching my daughter how to ride a bike, and then all the police cars and ambulances arrived from everywhere. “
He said that after watching the scene to see what it was all about, he saw paramedics driving a patient in an ambulance.
He also said there were rumors that the victims had left a trace of blood on the floor.
He added, “I saw someone in a stretcher being placed in the back of an ambulance and gradually the whole area locked up.
