Eager buyers lined up around the building at the Winners-Homesense location in Sudbury today as the store opened for the first time in months.
The Marcus Drive store has been closed since the province declared a state of emergency in March. Finally, on May 27, the store was once again able to welcome buyers inside the store.
Winner-Homesense will be open at modified hours with new security procedures in place to protect buyers and store employees.
The store will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The winners shared an Instagram post on Monday, saying they were about to open, and the response was quick, with more than 7,000 people liking the post.
The post said the store would take improved cleaning measures, provide health products to buyers, add protective screens to cash registers and encourage physical distance inside the store.
Associates will wear face masks, and the store will encourage customers to do the same.
