Boston Bruins recruit goalkeeper Jaroslav Halak for one-year extension


Boston Bruins signed goalkeeper Jaroslav Halak at a $ 2.25 million one-year contract extension, the team announced Friday night.

Halak has played 31 games with Boston this season, recording an 18-6-6 record with three shutouts, a goals-against-average of 2.39 and a save percentage of .919.

Halak has appeared in 520 regular season games, posting a record 272-167-58 with a GAA of 2.48 and a save percentage of .916 to go with 50 shutouts.

The 34-year-old has bounced back a lot in his NHL career. After being selected for the ninth round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Halak played for the Montreal Canadiens, St. Louis Blues, Washington Capitals and New York Islanders.
