Boris Johnson’s son named after doctors who helped care for him

Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his fiancee, Carrie Symonds, said on Saturday that they named their newborn son after the doctors who supervised Johnson’s treatment while he was in acute care with COVID -19.

The couple named their son, born Wednesday, Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas – a nod to Nick Price and Nick Hart, the two intensive care doctors who treated Johnson.

“I couldn’t be happier. My heart is full, “said Symonds, Reuters reported.

The 55-year-old Prime Minister congratulated the doctors at St Thomas Hospital, saying that “they had saved my life, without a doubt.”

“We are honored and humbled to have been recognized in this way,” Price told the newspaper. “We wish the new family good health and happiness.”

Johnson returned to work on Monday after recovering from the coronavirus, which has killed more than 28,000 people in the UK.
