AJ Styles returned to WWE on RAW this week for the first time after his match against Boneyard against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 36. However, he is not the only big name to return to WWE TV after WrestleMania. According to WWE, Randy Orton and Edge will return to RAW next week.
The purported reason behind the returns is that the company wants the biggest names to come back due to the lower ratings for the show.
Here’s what Cagesideseats (via SNME) said:
Speculation is that names like Styles, Edge and Randy Orton are brought back early due to WWE classification difficulties.
Edge and Randy Orton were last seen competing in a Last Man Standing match at WrestleMania 36. It was the first time that Edge had participated in a singles match in 9 years, and the superstar ranked R also managed to clinch the victory.
Edge vs. Randy Orton 2.0?
While it looks like the feud between the two legends may have been over at the biggest stadium of all, there is a good chance the two may resume hostilities next week.
Edge had said in one of his Instagram posts that he thought the two men hadn’t finished with each other yet. Here’s what Edge had to say about his program with Randy Orton after their WrestleMania 36 game:
I will always be proud of what we have accomplished under strange circumstances. I feel like we haven’t seen each other.
With WWE running out of star power, the return of former WWE champions like AJ Styles, Randy Orton and Edge will certainly help boost ratings and rekindle fan interest in the product.
