BEFORE CHRIST. reports 1 new death from COVID-19, 16 new cases


British Columbia has reported one new death from COVID-19 and 16 new cases of virus.

At her daily briefing on Wednesday, provincial health worker Dr. Bonnie Henry said that more than 78% of the 2,376 cases of COVID-19 in British Columbia were completely healed.

The death toll in the province from the pandemic is now 132.

The number of people hospitalized has dropped from four to 59 patients, she said. Only 14 of them are still in intensive care.

Henry said there have been no new community outbreaks of the virus, but the number of people living or working in long-term care who test positive has increased to 489.

On Tuesday, B.C. reported only seven new cases of COVID-19, the least in a single day since March 13.

The province has also launched an online survey to better understand the experience of people during the COVID-19 pandemic.
