Wife of ARSENAL star Sead Kolasniac was detained by police at an airport after bringing a stun gun to the UK.
Anxious, 27-year-old Bella Kolasinac bought the gun to protect herself after a knife attack on her husband and Gunners Mesut Ozil teammate on the street last year.
Fears for safety saw her flee to Germany soon after, and she obtained a legal permit to transport an “electroshock” there.
But she didn’t realize that the mighty device was illegal in Britain – and yesterday The sun recounts how she was detained by border officials at London Biggin Hill Airport when it was found in her luggage.
Bella sobbed that she had bought the device to defend herself and said that she had asked permission to import it.
She could have been imprisoned for six months for importing a prohibited weapon but was released with caution after the flight from Frankfurt on Sunday.
A 26-year-old spokesperson for Kolasinac said, “It was all a misunderstanding. The electroshock was still in its packaging and had no batteries.
“Bella was able to prove that she had sent emails to the flight operators to make sure she could import it.
“Unfortunately, she was in the air with her phone turned off when she received an email saying the device was illegal.
“The airline had informed customs officials that it was in shock before the plane landed.
“She didn’t say it because she didn’t think she did anything wrong. These devices can be transported legally in a bag in Germany if the owner has a permit.
“She is obviously very aware of the security after what happened to Sead and Mesut. “
German-born defender Kolasinac bravely faced two helmeted thieves who threw themselves on Ozil’s Mercedes 4 × 4 at Golders Green, north London, in July.
The disarmed player suffered minor cuts while standing up against one of the thugs, who was armed with a point about one foot long.
The two attackers admitted to being robbed and one was sentenced to ten years in prison.
An Arsenal official said of the stun gun: “This is a private matter and we will not comment on it. “
Kolasinac’s spokesperson denied that a cosh was also in Bella’s luggage.
