Apex Legends has had seasons since it started in 2019, but those seasons usually mean a new battle pass, a new character, and a few map changes. Season 5 has it all, but developer Respawn Entertainment is also adding a new feature called Season Quest.

The quest, titled “The Broken Ghost,” will take players on a journey to find nine pieces of a “mysterious artifact,” Respawn said in a blog post on Friday. Players can collect a daily treasure pack for Apex Legends meet. These treasure packs work like normal loot, except that you get them as soon as they are picked up, rather than going into your inventory, so you won’t lose them if you die after you catch them. Treasure packs give rewards – such as crafting materials, battle pass XP and apex packs – as well as new hunts.

The hunts are weekly missions that send players, solo or as a team, to search Kings Canyon for parts of the aforementioned artifact. During these missions, players will have to fight dangerous enemies like prowlers. If you complete a mission that you unlocked in a treasure pack, you can earn a piece of the artifact – and get closer to the end of the quest.

In addition to the artifact pieces, Hunts will also offer players rewards and story chapters that will help explain some of the biggest mysteries of season 5. Once you have the nine pieces of the artifact, you “Dive into the past and discover a secret that the Outlands may not be ready,” says Respawn.

The first hunt will be available on May 19, one week after the start of season 5. Players can access their first hunt after collecting five treasure packs. Each hunt after the first will be published once a week until the nine are available.
