The CNN anchor went to Instagram Thursday evening to reveal earlier this week that Wyatt was born to a surrogate mother. Cooper said, “As a gay child, I never thought it would be possible to have a child, and I am grateful to all who led the way, and to the doctors and nurses and to everyone involved in the birth of my son. “ As for Wyatt’s name, 52, says it was in honor of his father, who died when he was only 10, saying, “I hope I can be as good a dad as him. “
Anderson also shared a sweet message about her surrogate mother, saying, “Above all, I am grateful to a remarkable surrogate mother who carried and cared for Wyatt with love and tenderness, and gave birth to her. It’s an amazing blessing – what she and all the surrogates give to families who cannot have children. “
Finally, Anderson said, “I wish my mom and dad and brother Carter were alive to meet Wyatt, but I like to think they can see him.
