Now that stars like Joaquin Phoenix and Laura Dern finally have their Oscars, fans can agree that it’s Amy Adams’s turn. The actress has been nominated several times in the past. And she delivered poignant tricks in the 2016 film Arrival and televisions Sharp objects.
In fact, Adams has done so much that it’s easy to forget that she played Lois Lane in three DC Extended Universe movies. With his DCEU future uncertain, Adams could trade one comic book universe for another. Could Adams headline an upcoming Marvel movie?
Amy Adams plays Lois Lane in DC Extended Universe
The actress made her DCEU debut in 2013 Steel man. As an investigative reporter for the Daily Planet, her Lois Lane brought a much-needed update to the character. So often, Lois is the damsel in distress. And she is traditionally ignorant of the true identity of Superman (Henry Cavill).
But Steel man changed that. Instead, Adams’s Law is much more an integral part of Clark Kent’s journey. She is much more active in the conduct of this film and that of 2016 Batman v Superman: the dawn of justice. If director Zack Snyder’s original vision had stayed on track, Adams’s laws would in fact have been key to the whole story of Superman.

The beloved actress could be for a major Marvel character
But no matter how much she brings to Lois Lane, Adams has never had the opportunity to direct a comic book film herself. Now, according to Variety, the six-Oscar candidate could star in a mysterious Sony Marvel movie. From 2018 Venom, the studio has started building its Sony Pictures universe of Marvel characters.
Sony has the film rights to Spider-Man and the associated characters. And this project – directed by S.J. Clarkson (Succession) – will focus on Madame Web, according to rumors. A supporting character in the Spider-Man stories, she is often described as an elderly woman who relies more on clairvoyance and telepathy than on physical combat.
However, the film is still very early in its development. Clarkson did not find a writer or star for the film. And it is possible that the film is entirely based on another character. But the report says it is certainly the first female-directed film in the SPUMC. Other possible main characters are Black Cat, Silver Sable and Spider-Woman.

Does this mean that fans have seen the end of Lois Lane from Amy Adams?
But if Adams plays a Marvel role, some fans may wonder what that would mean for his DCEU race. In 2020, she said she could return as Lois Lane in the next installments. However, the franchise, Adams said, was heading in a different direction.
Of course, this sentiment preceded the recent news that Warner Bros. Justice League Snyder Cup. The 2017 film is Adams’ most recent foray into the DCEU. And if the new version brings significant changes, this could lead to more direct monitoring.
With Snyder’s Justice League on the way, the DCEU could make an effort to bring Superman from Cavill – and, by extension, Lois Lane from Adams – on board. Fans have wanted for a long time Steel man after. So maybe we haven’t seen the last of this version of Lois Lane after all.
