All Specialty’s Cafe & Bakery locations will close permanently

A staple of working lunches throughout the Bay Area is definitely closing.

Specialty’s Café & Bakery, which has more than 50 locations in three states, announced on its website that the business is closing due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“Specialty’s Cafe & Bakery is closing after 33 years in business. Current market conditions attributed to COVID-19 and on-site shelter policies have decimated the company’s revenues, “said a statement on the company’s website. “Our last day of operation will be Tuesday, May 19, 2020. Our customer service team will contact to cancel and refund any orders placed for Wednesday, May 20 and beyond. We sincerely thank you for your business and your support over the years. “

Specialty’s was founded in the Bay Area in the 1980s and is headquartered in Pleasanton. His countless homemade sandwiches and huge cookies have been enjoyed by countless workers at catered lunches and at branches in San Francisco’s financial district, downtown Oakland and beyond.

All locations in California, Washington and Illinois will close in May.
