Alberta reports 19 new cases of COVID-19; active cases fall below 1000

EDMONTON –
Alberta has 19 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday – the smallest overnight increase since March 16.

In the absence of Dr. Deena Hinshaw’s update for the first time in a week since the start of the pandemic, the Government of Alberta has released its latest COVID-19 statistics online.

Active cases in Alberta have increased from less than 1,000 to 970. There are 58 patients in the hospital, seven of whom are in intensive care.

The coronavirus death toll remains at 128.

There have been 6,735 cases of COVID-19 in Alberta.

The Chief Medical Officer of Health will provide his next live update on Thursday.
