WWE has a huge list and it is almost impossible to accommodate all talent all the time. This means that some stories can be deleted if they don’t go anywhere, fan interest is low, or due to injuries or other reasons why a Superstar cannot be featured.
2020 has been a pretty hectic year for WWE and professional wrestling in general. The pandemic has affected professional wrestling, which has resulted in massive changes that have taken place.
There have been many occasions when WWE abruptly canceled or suspended the WWE scenarios in 2020. Here, we are looking at five WWE scenarios that were canceled in 2020:
# 5 Daniel Bryan vs. Sami Zayn after WrestleMania 36
Daniel Bryan and Sami Zayn had an entertaining quarrel on SmackDown when the latter held the Intercontinental title. The two even had a match at WrestleMania 36 where Zayn defeated the former WWE champion to retain his intercontinental title.
And, Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported a few weeks ago that the feud between Bryan and Zayn was supposed to continue after WrestleMania 36. But Zayn chose to stay home during this ongoing pandemic, which is an option that WWE has given to their Superstars.
The report also said that WWE would always include Bryan in the men’s match in the Bank Ladder, and that his participation in the match had not taken place due to Zayn’s absence from television. Zayn was banned from the intercontinental championship earlier this week.
Sportskeeda’s Tom Colohue revealed that WWE asked Zayn if he was ready to return, and with Zayn unsure of when he can return, he was stripped of the title.
