Dorset police officer Timothy Brehmer, 41, has been charged with murder following the death of a woman who was found injured in a parking lot in West Parley, police said.

Officers entered the closed Horns Inn in West Parley, Dorset, on Saturday after an ambulance called for help.

The woman was rushed to Royal Bournemouth Hospital, but died in hospital the next morning.

The man was taken to Poole Hospital and arrested for murder following the death of the woman. He was originally arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Dorset police closed the parking lot over the weekend while they were combing for clues. Neighbors said a white forensic tent was also erected.

Images of a CCTV camera over the parking lot were released to police, said the site’s owner Stonegate Pub Company.

Officers also appeal to motorists who drove along the B3073 which passed the Horns Inn at the time to present images from the dash camera.

Residents said they heard a “noise” coming from outside the pub around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, shortly before the ambulances arrived.

A 70-year-old resident said he heard noise from the area but initially thought it was a crying baby.

The man, who did not wish to be named, said, “My wife and I were sitting in our garden and heard what sounded like a crying baby, which we thought was unusual in this area, but without really thinking about it .

“It wasn’t until we heard the sirens and saw what had happened that we put two and two together and realized that it could have been some sort of hustle and bustle in the pub parking lot.

“I have never seen police like this here before. There were sirens coming from all directions and loads of ambulances too.

“They closed the whole road and parked a car in the pub until Sunday evening. It’s really sad what happened and nothing like this has ever happened here before.

A spokesperson for the Horns Inn said, “The pub is currently closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We have been informed of an incident in the parking lot and have turned over video surveillance to assist the police in their investigation.”

West Parley is a small village five kilometers north-west of Bournemouth. It is divided by the busy B3073 connecting Wimborne and Bournemouth Airport.

The Horns is a gourmet pub popular with families because of its outdoor playground. The pub is close to the private Dudsbury golf club for £ 1,295 per year.
