10 new COVID-19 cases at the provincial level, almost 82% of the total cases recovered


Provincial health worker Dr. Bonnie Henry has confirmed 10 new cases of COVID-19 province-wide, for a total of 2,517.

There have been no new cases at Island, Interior or Northern Health.

There has been a new community outbreak at the Nature’s Touch frozen food plant in Abbotsford.

“If we see symptoms of any kind in our employees, it is very important that they stay home and get tested,” said Dr. Henry.

There are 303 active cases of COVID-19 in the province and 2,057 people who test positive are now fully recovered – a recovery rate of almost 82%.

39 people are hospitalized, including 8 in intensive care.

“We are watching very closely the opening of businesses and the increase in our contacts,” said Dr. Henry.

“We are currently in this transition phase, and we know the incubation period is 14 days and we have to monitor things in the week or two weeks to come,” she added.

2 other British Columbians have died from the virus, and the death toll is currently 157.

1,244 in Fraser Health
127 in Island Health
194 in indoor health
62 in Northern Health
