Zac Efron joins the cast of High School Musical


Zac Efron joined the cast of High School Musical for their first performance broadcast in 12 years.

In a unique Disney special, Zac met Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman and Lucas Grabeel via video call.

Speaking from his home at ABC The Disney Family Singalong on April 16, Zac – who had played Troy Bolton – wished the fans good luck and then presented the original cast before singing.

“Hi everyone and I hope you are safe and healthy, you are doing as well as you can in these unprecedented times. “

“It is my greatest pleasure to present a musical performance by some of my old and new friends,” he said.

The cast of High School Musical then performed a hit song “We are all in the same boat” during the broadcast.

Zac, however, did not actually participate in the singing.

The hour-long special hosted a crowd of famous Disney family faces via video call.

Viewers were stunned after Beyonce unexpectedly appeared and sang When You Wish Upon a Star.

Christina Aguilera also performed Can You Feel The Love Tonight by Lion King via a video of her house.

The exciting show ended with a duo of Demi Lovato and Michael Buble, who sang A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes by Cindarella.

The ABC special aimed to raise awareness of the NGO Feeding America, which is currently feeding citizens during the coronavirus pandemic.
