Cash, who was behind Talking Kitty Cat’s viral videos, died Thursday morning of a gunshot wound he had sustained, confirmed his heartbroken wife.
In a Facebook statement, Celia DeCosta Cash wrote: “It’s so difficult. I don’t even know what to say, or what to do. I just lost my best friend, my sidekick, my lover, my mentor, my everything, this morning.
“I’m so sad to say that my husband Steve Cash committed suicide this morning 04/16/2020. It hurts me to share that.
“Please understand, give the family time to cry, but know that Steve is no longer in pain.” “
Cash previously spoke of having endured battles with his sanity.
He became a viral star in 2007 with his YouTube videos Talking Kitty Cat.
He delighted fans with clips showing him talking to his cats as if they were humans and imitating their responses.
Her most popular video, Bad! Bad! Bad !, attracted more than 17 million viewers to the site.
Fans had noticed that Cash’s account had become inactive in recent months.
In September, he replied to one of his supporters who asked him if he had been hacked.
“No, just bipolar. I’m in a state of madness right now. When I fall back into depression, I will leave everything, ”he replied.
His latest video was released in December and titled Sylvester Goes To Court.
