WWE announces the release of Lio Rush, EC3 and others


WWE has announced the release of several Superstars.

According to WWE.com … Drake Maverick, EC3, Curt Hawkins, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, Eric Young and Lio Rush were all released from society with immediate effect.

“WWE has accepted the release of Drake Maverick (James Curtin), Curt Hawkins (Brian Myers), Karl Anderson (Chad Allegra), Luke Gallows (Drew Hankinson), EC3 (Michael Hutter) Eric Young (Jeremy Fritz), and Lio Rush (Lionel Green). We wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors, ”the company wrote.

As previously reported, WWE has announced that it will be make talent cuts this morning to save money to deal with the impact of the coronavirus on the business.

Maverick’s release is somewhat surprising, as the wrestler had been announced as one of the participants in the next provisional Cruiserweight title tournament.

The last EC3 game on WWE TV took place in September 2019.

Lio Rush was brought back to NXT at the end of last year and used on television more, but recently expressed himself in an interview saying it was uncomfortable to fight during the current pandemic.

Gallows and Anderson were the last game in Boneyard’s highly acclaimed match at WrestleMania.
