Paul Simon and Edie Brickell performed a stripped quarantine cover of the 1957 Everly Brothers song “I Wonder If I Care As Much”.

The couple harmonize the air against a white wall, singing in precise harmony on Simon’s gently strummed acoustic guitar. At the end of the clip, they lock their hands and smile at the camera.

Simon has recorded a series of performance videos over the past few weeks, including a version of Simon & Garfunkel’s classic “The Boxer”. In March, he, Brickell, their daughter Lulu Simon and Woody Harrelson, a neighbor from Hawaii, joined forces to play “All I Have to Do Is Dream”, the 1958 song popularized by the Everly Brothers, as part of ” A live cover of Luck Reunion by Willie Nelson.

Many artists, forced to cancel or postpone tours amid the coronavirus pandemic, use video performances to connect with fans. Rolling stone highlighted the chance reunion in its list of the best live quarantine sets to date, as well as the brain performances of Beach Boys Brian Wilson, Waxahatchee, Brad Paisley and Diplo, among others.
