[VIDEO] “Perry Mason” miniseries gets premiere date and trailer at HBO

If you’re a fan of Matthew Rhys, 1930s fashion and / or the jazzy saxophone, you’re going to love the first HBO trailer Perry Mason miniseries.

Based on characters created by author Erle Stanley Gardner, the drama – which will be presented on Sunday June 21 at 9 / 8c – stars Rhys (Americans) as a titular detective, who lived check to check as a low-rent private investigator in 1931 in Los Angeles.

Although Mason is haunted by his war experiences in France and suffers from the effects of a broken marriage, circumstances change when the case of the decade breaks down. According to the official connection line, “Mason’s relentless pursuit of the truth reveals a fractured city and, perhaps, a path of redemption for himself.”

And Mason’s disillusionment with Los Angeles is immediately clear in the trailer integrated above. “I don’t like it here,” he says. “Everyone wants something. To hide something. Everyone has an angle. And Everybody is guilty. “

Perry Mason also includes Tatiana Maslany (Black orphan) as a powerful preacher sister Alice and John Lithgow (The crown) like E.B. Jonathan, Mason’s semi-regular lawyer and employer. Robert Patrick (Scorpio), Chris Chalk (Gotham), Shea Whigham (Back home), Nate Corddry (Mom), Veronica Falcon (Queen of the South), Jefferson Mays (I am the night), Gayle Rankin (GLOW) and Lili Taylor (American crime) complete the cast.
