This week turned out to be a rather bittersweet moment for Vanessa Bryant and her daughters after it was revealed that the late Kobe Bryant would be inducted into the National Basketball Association (NBA) Hall of Fame.
Expressing gratitude for the honor bestowed on her late husband, Vanessa sat down for a short interview with ESPN, almost two months after his death.
The day in question marked the end not only of Kobe’s life but also that of her 13-year-old daughter, Gianna Bryant.
“It is an incredible accomplishment and honor and we are extremely proud of him,” said Vanessa, seated next to her 17-year-old daughter, Natalia Bryant.
“Obviously we wish he was here with us to celebrate, but it is definitely the pinnacle of his NBA career and every accomplishment he has had as an athlete has been a stepping stone to be here, so we are incredibly proud of him. the comfort of knowing that he was likely to be part of Hall of Fame 2020 class. “
