Just days after the Vancouver Aquarium announced a partnership with the Vancouver Whitecaps football team to sell masks, it looks like the business is already paying off.
CTV News Vancouver reports that the Vancouver Aquarium site was so crowded with inbound sales on Friday that it crashed briefly.
More than 25,000 masks were sold between the launch on Friday morning and Saturday noon, which equates to approximately 1,000 masks per hour.
The cloth masks are available in child and adult sizes and cost around $ 20 each.
The Vancouver Aquarium announced in mid-April that it would face a permanent closure due to COVID-19 preventing people from visiting the site.
