Eleanor and Eileen Andrews, 66, “did it all together” but contracted Covid-19 last month.
Their death in five days devastated their family in Abercynon, south Wales.
Eleanor Stuart’s son and his wife Janice spoke of their sadness today.
Janice said, “We feel like we’re in a horror movie or a nightmare and someone is going to wake us up.
“It doesn’t seem to be real. It is starting to wreak havoc on us. It gets more and more difficult every day. “
Eleanor fell ill at home and died on March 29. Eileen, who suffered from COPD lung disease, developed symptoms during the same period and died in hospital a few days later.
Their brother Philip, 69, who also lived in the same house, is now also in hospital after being tested positive for Covid-19. He also suffers from COPD lung disease.
“They’re trying to save Phillip’s life now. It’s terrible. He was still standing, he was active and then to see him go like that, you would think he was a totally different person, “Janice told ITV News.
” [You think] ‘It’s not going to happen to me’, because things like that don’t happen to us but it happens, it happens.
“Stay, because it’s the effect of people who don’t stay and don’t listen to the government, you know. We do not want to subject people to what we are going through. “
More than 7,000 people have died in the UK with a coronavirus. Boris Johnson has it and remains in intensive care in a London hospital.
