Two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in employees of a Lower Mainland grocery store

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Two grocery stores in the Greater Vancouver area have employees with confirmed cases of COVID-19.

A list of confirmed coronavirus cases posted on the Sobey website lists the locations across the country where employees have tested positive.

One affected location in the Lower Mainland is the FreshCo at 10153 No.3 Road in Richmond, where a case was recorded on March 28.

The other is the Safeway at 990 West King Edward Ave. in Vancouver, where a case was registered on March 31.

The website describes the protocol when an employee is positive.

“If necessary, we will communicate with customers who have made their purchases in the affected location, with store signage, describing our steps to manage the situation. As a precaution, with each reported case, we thoroughly clean and disinfect the store location, “said the website.
