Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada has announced that it will extend the closure of its auto and component plants in Canada and North America until May 1, with production set to resume on May 4.
He cites the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and a drop in demand for vehicles.
He says his spare parts operations and finished vehicle logistics centers will continue to operate as he works to meet the ongoing needs of their customers.
The company also says it will continue to monitor the situation and take appropriate action in a timely manner.
Toyota has factories in Cambridge and Woodstock.
