Tottenham not impressed as Jose Mourinho hosts public “training session” with three players amid coronavirus lockout


Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho was called off by the club after organizing a public fitness session with three of his players, who ignored social distancing guidelines.

Mourinho was photographed on Hadley Common in Barnet on Tuesday, with Davinson Sanchez, Tanguy Ndombele and Ryan Sessegnon. All four live locally.

Video footage posted on social media showed that Sessegnon and Sanchez were jogging side by side, while Mourinho – who was wearing the full Spurs training kit – was pictured with Ndombele and two other men, apparently s ‘stretch.

Official government advice during the coronavirus pandemic is that all individuals must be at least two meters from each other at all times, and outdoor exercise can only be undertaken with another person from your own household.

Mourinho spoke to senior club officials who were not impressed with the manager’s decision.

A Spurs spokesperson said, “We have reminded all of our players to respect social distance when exercising outdoors.

“We will continue to reinforce this message. “
