Toronto public health said there had been 79 deaths and 105 people had recovered.
The municipal agency also said that 196 people are hospitalized, 85 of whom are in intensive care units.
The new numbers come as Ontario reported 411 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the provincial total to 6,648.
There are 31 additional deaths from coronavirus, the largest increase to date in a single day since the province started reporting these numbers.
The total number of deaths in Ontario is now 253.
