Tom Hanks describes his experience with COVID-19

Hollywood couple Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson contracted COVID-19 in Australia, and now Hanks has described their experience with the disease – it sounds really bad.

Hanks told The National Defense Radio Show that he had “bad body aches and was very tired.” He tried to exercise while in quarantine, but was unable to do basic stretching due to his fatigue. Wilson, however, had a much more difficult experience.

“Rita has gone through more difficult times than I have,” said Hanks (via Entertainment Weekly). “She had a much higher fever. She had lost her sense of taste and smell. She had no joy in eating for a better part of three weeks. “

Hanks went on to say that Wilson became so nauseous “that she had to crawl across the floor from the bed to the facility.”

In early March, Hanks and Wilson caught the virus in Australia where Hanks was preparing for his lead role in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley film as musician’s manager, Tom Parker. Hanks and Wilson were quarantined in a hospital after being confirmed to have COVID-19.

Wilson and Hanks donated blood to help make a vaccine for COVID-19 because doctors believe they now have immunity, Wilson previously told Gayle King of GameSpot’s sister site, CBS News.
