Three more outbreaks were reported in long-term care facilities and retirement homes


Three other outbreaks were reported in long-term care homes and local retirement homes.

Those affected: Forest Heights Revera Long Term Care in Kitchener, The Village at University Gates in Waterloo and Saint Luke’s Place in Cambridge.

The President and CEO of Saint Luke posted a statement on Facebook.

Paul O’Krafka said: “The person concerned is a member of the administrative staff who does not provide direct care to our residents and is currently recovering. “

According to the Waterloo Region public health website, a staff member from The Village at University Gates is also affected, while a resident of Forest Heights Revera tested positive for coronavirus.

Thursday, Public Health also provided an update on the number of COVID-19 cases in the Waterloo region.

There are 12 new confirmed cases, bringing the total to 129.

29 of these cases have been resolved. There have been two deaths related to COVID-19 to date.
