MONTREAL –
After two patients and four staff members working on the 15th floor of the Montreal General Hospital tested positive for COVID-19, access to the floor is now closed.

The 15th floor is reserved for internal medicine.

According to an MUHC statement on Tuesday, hospital human resources teams are conducting an epidemiological investigation to “find the close contacts of those infected.”

The hospital said the two patients have been placed in segregation and that approximately 30 MUHC staff are now under quarantine.

“In addition, all patients who may have been exposed to those infected are subject to isolation precautions and are being actively monitored for symptoms,” the statement said.

This is a developing story.
