Third coronavirus death in Jersey

The person was described as being in the “late 60s” and having underlying health conditions. Their relatives have been informed and are supported.

Health Minister Richard Renouf said, “I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. It is always sad to lose a loved one and I am sure we all feel sympathy for their loss.

“Health and community services will not release any other information to protect the privacy of the deceased and their families.”

As of Friday, there were 118 confirmed cases of Covid-19 on the island, 232 pending tests and 992 confirmed negative tests.

The death follows that of a person in his forties with significant underlying health problems who had been in the care of the health services for a week a week ago and, a few days earlier, that of a patient in his forties at end of life who had received palliative care.
