The Tour de France rescheduled to start on August 29


Latest news on the effects of the coronavirus epidemic on sports around the world:


This year’s Tour de France will start on August 29 and end on September 20, followed by the other two major cycling races.

The International Cycling Union has announced the new dates after consulting the organizer of the Amaury Sport Organization race. The tour could not start as scheduled on June 27 due to restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic.

The UCI also indicates that the world championships will take place as planned from 20 to 27 September and will be followed by the Giro d’Italia and the Spanish Vuelta. No official date has been given for these two major races.

The UCI indicates that classics of the prestigious one-day route such as Paris-Roubaix and Liège-Bastogne-Liège will be maintained on dates yet to be defined.
