The number of positive COVID-19 cases in the region is now 677

The Region is experiencing an increase in positive cases of COVID-19 after the notification of 43 new cases.

This comes after the Waterloo Region public health unit updated its COVID-19 summary on Sunday.

The total number of confirmed cases is now 677, with 248 cases resolved.

Four new deaths have also been reported, causing a total of 55 deaths.

No new outbreaks have been reported, but Forest Heights Revera has reported a total of 133 cases since Saturday, with 48 employees infected and 27 deaths.

The total number of tests performed for COVID-19 in the Waterloo region is 5,457.
