According to MDH, in this case, an outbreak is defined as “one or more residents or staff members with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19”.
According to the latest data from the Minnesota Department of Health, 95 COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized in Minnesota, including 42 in the intensive care unit. The age range of patients with coronavirus in the ICU is 25 to 95 years.
The age range of patients who have died from the virus is 58 to 100 years. The median age of those who died is 86.
Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm said 14 deceased Minnesotans lived in group care facilities, which include nursing homes, assisted living facilities and group homes. The coronavirus has now spread to 47 different healthcare facilities.
