Queen Elizabeth II uses her Easter message to encourage hope for the coronavirus epidemic, saying “it will not get us through.”
In a message posted on Twittershe said, Easter is a time of “light overcoming darkness.”
“This year Easter will be different for many of us, but by separating, we are ensuring the safety of others. But Easter is not canceled; indeed, we need Easter as much as ever, ”she said.
“The discovery of the risen Christ on the first day of Easter gave his disciples new hope and purpose, and we can all take heart.
“We know that the coronavirus will not overcome us. As dark as death can be – especially for those who are grieving – light and life are greater. May the living flame of Easter hope be a constant guide to the future. “
