In the era of social distancing, few celebrities have forged such an engaging social media presence as that of Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. They’re married, so they can share their isolation – and they’ve filled the time with a good-hearted weekly YouTube show they call Some good news.
As the title suggests, this is a summary – anchored by Krasinski, with contributions from special guests – breathtaking stories about the people who do good in the world. The second episode in the series, which was released on Sunday evening, runs fairly amicably until around the halfway point, when Krasinski welcomes 9-year-old Aubrey.
Inspired by a tweet expressing sadness that Aubrey must miss his long-awaited trip to see Hamilton on Broadway, Krasinski and Blunt informed Aubrey, a starstruck, that they would fly her to see the show once Broadway reopens. But then, since Blunt played in Mary Poppins Returns with a Lin-Manuel Miranda, they decided to outdo themselves.
By the time you can get a quick break, be sure to hitch yourself up for that 17-minute explosion of joy, courtesy of the stars of A quiet place – and all of the original (socially distanced) distribution of Hamilton.
