The next full moon – a super “pink” moon on April 7 – will be the brightest in 2020.
Like the March worm moon, the pink moon in April will be a super moon, which is the time when the full moon coincides with the closest point to Earth on the orbit of the moon.
The full moon in April will be a little closer than in March, so a little larger and brighter, although the difference is likely to be negligible for most viewers.
The full April moon is called the pink moon, but it will not appear in the usual colors. The name is a Native American reference to flowers and other flora that arrive in early spring, according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac.
The moon will reach its full phase at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday Eastern Daylight Time. He will get up at 7:11 p.m. tonight.
National Weather Service forecasts for Thursday forecast partly cloudy skies during the day and increasing cloud cover at night, with risk of showers throughout the day.
If you want to see an almost full moon a day earlier, it rises at 5:54 p.m. Monday; the skies should be mostly sunny during the day with increasing clouds at night. Wednesday, the moon rises at 20:28, always under increasing clouds.
