Supermarket opening hours will change again due to Easter weekend

Supermarket opening hours have already changed significantly due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Last month, 24-hour hours at Tesco and Aldi were temporarily interrupted, with other stores operating on reduced hours and hours dedicated to NHS staff and vulnerable buyers.

As Easter weekend approaches, new revisions will change from Good Friday this week (April 10) to Easter Monday (April 13).

These are the changes to the UK’s largest supermarket chains.

Tesco

Good Friday

All Superstores and Metro Extras stores will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Tesco Express convenience stores will be open at regular hours.

Saturday April 11

Tesco Extra Superstores and Metro stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Tesco Express convenience stores open their regular hours.

Easter Sunday

Tesco Extra Superstores and Metro stores are closed in England, Wales and Northern Ireland .

Tesco Extra Superstores and Metro stores in Scotland are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

All Express convenience stores are open at regular hours.

Easter Monday

Tesco Extra Superstores and Metro stores in England and Wales are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

North Ireland Tesco The extras are open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Scotland Tesco Extra Superstroes is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

All Express convenience stores are open at regular hours.

Tuesday April 14

In England, Scotland and Wales , Tesco The Extra Superstores and Metro stores are open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

North Ireland Tesco The extras and superstores are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Scotland stores are open as usual.

All Tesco Express convenience stores are open at regular hours.

Wednesday April 15

North Ireland Tesco The extras and superstores open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Aldi

Aldi stores will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Good Friday, Saturday April 11 and Easter Monday (April 13).

All Aldi stores will be closed on Easter Sunday.

Morrisons

Morrisons continues to operate during the coronavirus crisis from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. This includes Good Friday, Saturday April 11 and Easter Monday (April 13)

Stores in England and Wales will be closed on Easter Sunday.

Morrisons supermarkets in Scotland will continue to open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Easter Sunday.

The regular opening hours of the Sainsbury’s store from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. continue on Good Friday, Saturday April 11 and Easter Monday (April 13).

Sainsbury’s local convenience stores, often open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., will continue to be open during these hours, including Easter Sunday.

The supermarket said some of its stores were open on Easter Sunday. You can check the opening hours of your local branch using the store locator.

Asda

Stores will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Good Friday, Saturday April 11 and Easter Monday (April 13).

All Asda stores will be closed on Easter Sunday.

Changes to the Coronavirus supermarket

Lidl said the stores selected vary and encourage buyers to check out its store locator.

In England and Wales Good Friday hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., or as usual inside M25.

All stores will be open as usual on Saturday April 11 and closed on Easter Sunday.

On Easter Monday (April 13), stores will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., or open as usual inside M25.

Lidl stores in Scotland will be open as usual from Good Friday to Easter Monday, including Easter Sunday.
