Superb PS5 design combines the past and future of PlayStation

We are still waiting for the PS5 the design of the console will be revealed by Sony. But in the meantime, we can take advantage of some unofficial takes on the case of the PS5, and the latter combines parts of the PS4 and DualSense controller to make an elegant machine.

Made by Jermaine ” Concept creator“Smit (via LetsGoDigital), these renderings use the design of the DualSense controller as the basis for the color palette and lines of the PS5 console itself. Smit then created this three-layer design, which looks like the PS4 Pro except with a cutout where the disc player is located, highlighted in the same blue lighting as that of the DualSense.

Smit previously did a different rendering of the PS5, but the latter has been modified to better reflect the two-tone color scheme of the DualSense controller, which is a major departure from the DualShock style controllers of the PS4 and consoles. both. in design and functionality.

Of course, if you don’t like the black and white version of the PS5, Smit has designed an all-black version, the traditional color scheme of the PlayStation. Sony has already sold white consoles and black consoles (and gray in the case of the original PlayStation), but it has not mixed them before. We will have to wait and see if this will sell single color consoles or if you can only buy something like this two color concept.

Microsoft has already shown us just about everything for the Xbox Series X design and specifications, but all we know about Sony’s new design is what the new DualSense controller looks like. Both sides of the upcoming console war have also shown us their internal specs, with the Xbox offering more power but the PS5 theoretically offering a greater variety of immersive functionality aside from graphics alone.

We hope to see the two consoles launched before the end of the year, probably around November if the publishing model of previous generations is something. The coronavirus pandemic raises fears of delays in the hardware or launch titles that accompany it, but both parties seem confident that they can still reach their exit target.
