Steve Irwin’s 16-year-old son attended the Australian Zoo wedding, which was featured on a television special in the United States last night.
The teenage wildlife warrior was clearly moved by his 21-year-old sister’s wedding to American professional wakeboarder Chandler.
It seemed that the outpouring of emotion was due to the absence of their late father.
Legendary zoo keeper Steve, nicknamed The Crocodile Hunter, was killed in 2006 after a stingray pierced his chest while filming in the Australian Barrier Reef.
There was a wave of international emotion due to the death of Irwin at the time.
On the show, Robert says, “I think for all of us it’s just emotional, excited and it’s just an incredibly special day.
“I am delighted that Bindi and Chandler are starting their married life today. “
He was then shown to blink several times as he held back tears while discussing the ceremony.
He added: “I can’t wait, I’m already moved!
“Oh, what are you doing Robert? Pulled yourself together! It’s tears of joy anyway! “
Robert continued, “I have the most amazing sister in the world and I love her so much and I am so happy for her today. I’m going to need a second, sorry. “
He then left the camera to recover after the emotional discussion.
The Australian children’s television presenter tried to speak again, saying, “I think part of the reason why this is an incredibly emotional day for all of us …”
However, Robert was soon overcome with emotion and burst into tears again.
Her mother, Terri Irwin, described the strong emotions of her father’s absence.
