Ranjit Chowdhry, a Bollywood actor who joined the American mainstream, died Wednesday in a Mumbai hospital. He was 64 years old and suffered from a ruptured ulcer which required emergency surgery, reports said. Chowdhry had returned to India for dental work, but was later trapped by the pandemic trip stop.

Her U.S. resume also includes TV shows Prison escape, Girls, and Law & Order: SVU. In the movies, he appeared in Last holidays with Queen Latifah and the 1990 film Lonely in America.

Survivors include a half-sister, Raell Padamsee. She said a celebration of her life will be held on May 5.
