SLASH, DUFF MCKAGAN, SEBASTIAN BACH, NIKKI SIXX, others mourn the death of Punk Rock fashion icon JIMMY WEBB

Duff McKagan (GUNS N ‘ROSES), Slash (GUNS N ‘ROSES), Sebastian Bach (SKID ROW), Nikki Sixx (MOTLEY CRUE), Alissa White-Gluz (ARCH ENEMY) and CRO-MAGS are among the rockers who reacted on social networks to the death of Jimmy Webb, the iconic manager of the famous New York clothing store Trash and Vaudeville, who died Tuesday morning at the age of 62. The cause of death is cancer.

Jimmy Webb was a great friend of mine, ” Bach wrote. “I bought every pair of Cuban heel boots I wore from 1987 to 2011 at Trash & Vaudeville of Jimmy. Rest in peace brother, we will miss you. You come from the era of real rock and roll. “

McKagan added: “The sweetest man and pure punk f * cking rock n roll. Jimmy has such a story, and my family and I feel honored and loved to be a small part of its triumphant history. We love you Jimmy… We will miss you, brother. “

Punk rock legend Henry Rollins told the New York Post that he had played in Buffalo not long ago and that he was suffering Webb took the train to surprise him behind the scenes. “He traveled four hours and came with a bouquet of flowers”, Rollins told. “He said he just wanted to see me. It was a total Jimmy move. We put the flowers on the sightseeing bus and hoped they wouldn’t be knocked over when we pulled out of a truck stop. Jimmy Webb was one of the sweetest human beings I’ve ever met. “

Webb grew up in New York State and moved to New York in 1975. He has spent more than a decade and a half working at Trash and Vaudeville, which he dubbed “the paradise of rock and roll”, before opening his own shop, I need more, named after a song by Iggy Pop, three years ago.

In a 2013 article, Vogue called Webb the “reigning mayor of Saint Mark’s Square” and the “unofficial punk rock merchant”.

“Without a doubt, I have a dream come true,” Webb said once. “I live every moment and taste everything. I taste it, I feel it, I feel it … Dreams come true. “

I would officially say in 2020 to get the hell out of here now. But I know Jimmy wouldn’t approve of such negativity. We will miss you very much. ?

It’s very difficult. Jimmy Webb IS for me in New York. The city and its name go hand in hand. I can’t imagine being in town and not from Jimmy Webb. Jimmy has been in our family of close knits since the very beginning. Jimmy got on the bus with us across America. Through Europe. It is inconceivable that he should have left. If Jimmy took you, you were his family immediately. He took us like wanderers. Jimmy was my family. I don’t know how to live in a world without Jimmy Webb so I chose to believe that he will always be with me. He will watch over St. Marks and the Lower East Side forever. The angel from New York. We miss you, Jimmy. We love you. I am grateful to have been fortunate to be alive at a time when Jimmy Webb walked on Earth. What a gift you have been to so many of us. You are still with us. Thank you for all that you have given us. Forever broken heart. #jimmywebb @jimmywebbnyc @ixneedxmore

We lost a great rock n roll human being today, Jimmy will be greatly missed. As you are so loved by so many people, you will live in our hearts forever. You are truly one of a kind. and there will never be one like you. A perfect storm of love, joy, tragedy, grain, RnR and soul, the world is a lesser place in your absence. RIP Jimmy. Give them hell! # JimmyWebb # IWantMore iiii]; ) “
