Roy Keane explains why Bruno Fernandes succeeded where Alexis Sanchez failed

Bruno Fernandes hit the ground running at Manchester United in a way that many previous signatures failed to do.

The Red Devils have not been afraid to spend money in recent transfer windows, with big names like Angel Di Maria, Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez going through all the doors of Old Trafford.

But while none of the aforementioned players really lived up to their huge billings, Fernandes’ January signing excelled for Manchester United.

And club legend Roy Keane thinks it has a lot to do with the attitude of the 25-year-old, who compliments his quality on the field.

Roy Keane is a fan of Bruno Fernandes

“We often talk about players who take time to set up in a club – it didn’t take long, did it? Roy Keane told Sky Sports.

“He seems to be a very good personality. It’s obviously a big step for him, but he seems to be enjoying it. He’s a little arrogant about him. “

The “arrogance” Keane spoke of – a trait the Irishman exuded during his playing days – was visible to the world during the Manchester derby in March.

Fernandes was spotted putting his finger to his lips during an argument with Man City manager Pep Guardiola, signaling him to stop talking.

The Portuguese later explained, “I am so respectful of Pep, what he has won and what he has done for football, but at that time he did not respect me and he did not deserve my respect. “
