Richmond FreshCo employee confirmed COVID-19 case


It is confirmed that an employee of a Richmond grocery store has COVID-19.

The employee works at FreshCo at 10153 No 3 Road in Williams Road, according to the Sobeys website, which lists locations across Canada where employees have tested positive for COVID-19.

The case was registered on the website on March 28. According to the website, the employee last worked in the store on March 26.

“We will always do our best to support our teammates and ensure their safety,” reads the site.

“If necessary, we will communicate with customers who have made their purchases in the affected location, with store signage, describing our steps to manage the situation. As a precaution, with each reported case, we thoroughly clean and disinfect the location of the store. “

The Richmond FreshCo is one of two Sobeys Inc. stores in the Lower Mainland with an employee who tested positive for the coronavirus.

The list also registers a case at Safeway at 990 West King Edward Ave in Vancouver, Oak Street. This employee last worked in the store on March 31, when the matter was also registered on the website.

Sobeys Inc. has a range of grocery stores across Canada, which include Sobeys, IGA and IGA extra, Safeway, Thrifty Foods and FreshCo, among others.

According to the list, store employees in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and Newfoundland and Labrador also tested positive for COVID-19.
