You can now order the Tesla Model 3 made locally in China in the Long Range or Performance versions. The former has a claimed range of 668 km (415 miles) and is not much more expensive than the standard range model.
The Chinese-made 3 LR model starts at 366,550 yuan (equivalent to around $ 52,000), which is less than 15% more expensive than the 3 SR model (which starts in China at 323,800 yuan , or $ 46,040). Thanks to government subsidies, the price of the Long Range model drops to 339,050 yuan (about 48,200 dollars).
The MIC Model 3 is more expensive than the LR, kicking off 419,800 yuan (about $ 59,700); it will be lower once the subsidies are announced.
Deliveries of the MIC Model 3 LR will begin in June this year, and will help strengthen Tesla’s already impressive sales in the People’s Republic – the manufacturer has seen sales increase in the past two months despite the coronavirus pandemic in Classes. The MIC Model 3 Performance, meanwhile, will arrive in early 2021.
Tesla’s manufacturing site in China is said to have produced just over 10,000 units in March, but once these two new Model 3 variants go into full production, the figure will likely increase.
