Report: Houston Texans enter contract negotiations with Deshaun Watson

Houston Texans blindly tackled left on Friday Laremy Tunsil to a contract extension of $ 66 million over three years. Now they’re looking to lock up the man he protects while Houston has engaged in “preliminary talks” with the quarterback Deshaun Watson on a contract extension, according to Ed Werder of ESPN.

The two sides are looking to strike a deal before the season starts in September.

Watson, 24, threw for 3,852 yards with 26 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 15 games in 2019, his third season in the NFL.

The double Bowler Pro was selected 12th overall by the Texans in the 2017 NFL draft.

Watson, who played his college ball at Clemson, is expected to earn $ 1.177 million in the 2020 season.
