Issa Dee plans a block party in “Insecure” Season 4 Episode 1

The first one started with a flashforward where Issa Dee (Issa Rae) was lying on her sofa watching a real crime show Looking for Latoya on the phone. She then admitted that she “no longer f ** k with Molly” to the unknown person on the other end of the phone, which involved breaking up with her best friend later in the series.

Four months ago, Issa and Molly Carter (Yvonne Orji) spent time on their “Self-Care Sunday”, where they gained height and caught up while doing yoga. Then the property manager met his new friend Condola Hayes (Christina Elmore) to review their “checklist” for the upcoming mixer, they planned to meet with potential sponsors.

Subsequently, she and Molly went to buy outfits to wear for the event, and Issa admitted that she was disappointed with Condola, who landed bigger deals. She then joined Condola again in her friend’s elegant office, but was interrupted by a Tiffany DuBois (Amanda Seales) speaker.

Issa Dee discovers Condola Hayes is dating her ex

The friend brought a gift and noted that her baby had reunited the two, prompting Issa to ask Condola that she had met at the baby shower. Her new friend revealed that the mysterious man was ex Lawrence Walker (Jay Ellis), shocking Issa.

The ladies tried to play, but the two did not seem comfortable with the situation. Cordola went to Lawrence’s house for an appointment and informed her of her working relationship with Issa.

After discovering that her friend and Lawrence had been dating for five years, she admitted that she wanted to “do a rain test” on their date to “process” the new information.

Condola ended up going to the blender, and things were seemingly awkward in between. In addition, Issa went to all the sponsors to tell them what they wanted to hear, her brother DJ, Ahmed, played an explicit song from Khia, and Tiffany informed her that a porta-pot had broken .

Therefore, Issa grabbed the microphone and explained to everyone the importance of the block party and why she needed their donations, and it apparently worked.

At the end of the mixer, Molly asked Andrew (Alexander Hodge) to leave without her because she did not like the fact that he was dating other women. While she stayed to help Issa clean up, Condola returned to Lawrence’s house and the episode ended with the new lovers having sex.
