A US court on Thursday ordered the release of rapper 6ix9ine due to the plight of the coronavirus epidemic, BillBoard reported.
More than 5,000 people have been killed and more than 100,000 others infected with COVID-19 in the United States in the past few days.
According to the report, the singer whose real name is Daniel Hernandez will be under house arrest for the next four months on probation.
In addition to having a GPS monitor, he will have to live at an address agreed to by his probation officer.
The singer will be allowed to leave his home if he needs medical attention to visit his lawyers.
6ix9ine was due out in July.
The publication said that its request for home confinement had been refused last week.
