The Rangers have resigned themselves to losing star striker Alfredo Morelos this summer and have fielded replacements for him.
The Colombian scored 29 goals in all competitions this season before the coronavirus pandemic stopped football.
It is still unknown whether the season will start again or when the transfer window will open. However, Goal’s Spanish outlet says the Scottish Premiership club is looking for a replacement for Morelos.
Gers boss Steven Gerrard previously suggested he wouldn’t sell Morelos for £ 50m, but this latest report suggests it would take around £ 15m (£ 13.21m) to keep the player away from Ibrox.
Morelos has no problem scoring goals, but he’s certainly struggling to keep his cool, having been kicked FIVE times this season.
However, that doesn’t seem to have deterred potential contenders with four Premier League clubs – Leicester, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa – who would be interested in Morelos.
Meanwhile, LaLiga clubs Atletico Madrid, Valencia and Seville are also in the running to sign the 23-year-old, as are the giants of Serie A Inter Milan.
The report also says the Rangers have drawn up a list of five strikers to replace “El Bufalo”, including Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster, currently on loan to the Championship Championship Swansea.
There is great hope for Brewster, 20, at Anfield, so it would probably take a lot of persuasion from Rangers boss Steven Gerrard to get the England youth international to play his football in Scotland.
Meanwhile, Dundee United forward Lawrence Shankland is also on the list, as is former Sunderland forward Josh Maja, who currently plays for Bordeaux.
The other two names include Sierre Leone forward Mohamed Buya Turay and Clermont leader Adrian Grbic.
