The more we learn about PlayStation 5, the more it becomes clear that Sony is not just willing to retread old terrains. While the new generation console will retain the characteristics of what made the PlayStation 4 successful, the Japanese giant is heading in bold new directions, introducing hardware specially designed to change the way we play.
For boss Jim Ryan, it will be transformative for the games. “DualSense marks a radical change from our previous controller offerings and captures how convinced we are to take a generational leap with PS5,” he said on the PlayStation blog. “The new controller, along with the many innovative features of the PS5, will be transformative for gaming – continuing our mission on PlayStation to push the boundaries of gaming, now and into the future.”
Ryan also took a moment to reiterate that the PS5 will release Holiday 2020 and that it will soon present the console design. “We look forward to sharing more information on the PS5, including the design of the console, in the coming months,” he said.
